Abstract:
This report explores the current status and future potential of Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) battery reuse and recycling in India and internationally. It analyzes recycling technologies, business models, market trends, and policy frameworks through industry consultations and literature review. The study highlights the growing importance of recovering critical minerals such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel from end-of-life batteries. It identifies challenges related to collection systems, technology adoption, investment, and regulatory compliance. The report recommends strengthening recycling infrastructure, traceability mechanisms, and policy support to build a sustainable circular battery economy.
