1: Identification of gaps in the policy and regulatory framework for decentralised energy storage systems in India
Developing an in-depth understanding of gaps in the existing policy and regulatory framework and understanding what is hindering uptake is essential for the project to target policy recommendations to where they will be most effective. With the states being responsible for most policy and regulation for power systems and electricity markets, guided by national policy, it is essential to look at both national and state-level regulation. This includes recommendations on power systems as well as related to human capacity development needed for large scale deployment of storage solutions.
2: Policy recommendations for an enhanced policy and regulatory framework for decentralised energy storage systems in India.
The project aims to provide practical policy and regulatory inputs for the national level and for those states where demonstration projects are located. As far as possible, these will be translated into recommendations or lessons learned applicable to other states. Close collaboration with key stakeholders, such as the Forum of Regulators will support the outreach and dissemination of findings and recommendations beyond the states where demonstration projects are located.
