Coordinated by the Grid Integration Lab, IIT Bombay, Department of Energy Science & Engineering, the forum is constituted under the Energy Storage for Renewable Energy Integration in India (StoREin) project, supported by Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV), Government of Germany, International Climate Initiative (IKI) and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India.

The R&D forum, aimed to be a one-stop R&D platform for Grid Connected Storage, will focus on energy storage technologies, grid integration, economic and policy frameworks, and Indo-German technical knowledge exchange, enabling structured engagement among R&D Labs from academia, industry, utilities, regulators, policymakers, OEMs, and researchers to support India’s clean energy transition.
